Kolkata....City of Joy......

Kolkata.
Hearing this word, many things comes into mind,
a highly unplanned city, a place worth living, the cheapest metro city of India, a place of fish lovers, etc.
This is the city which has given me my life. The existence of it makes sure that I exist. A city which has been my first home and will always be. Kolkata or better known as Calcutta, the place of rich literary heritage. The place which has seen the rising of British Empire in India. The city which hosted India's first uprising. The place which has given martyr's like Mangal Pandey, Khudiram Bose, Subhash Chandra Bose, Batukeshwar Dutt, and many more. The city which has equally supported in the development of scientific India through Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose. Literary contribution is undenial as the national anthem itself was written and composed by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore.
A small dedication to the city, which will always remain close to my heart.

Kolkata

Kolkata also known as City of Joy,
City that has seen many ups and downs but still hoy.

City that has seen the advancement of slavery,
It has also been the witness of first bravery.

While the world was busy making great progress,
It has stuck to its value by helping homeless.

City that rejoices in every festival,
yet mourns its martyrs' withdrawal.

It has always been the smaller world,
that provides everything but has never asked.

The place which leaves a mark on everyone's heart,
But is yet unknown to find its own intent.
